Terms of use
Information for contributors to this site:
(Note: guidance for these terms of use are taken from the Drupal licensing terms and the the Wikipedia Foundation Terms of Use.)
Unless otherwise provided for in the web interface provided by this site for creating or uploading text content or computer code:
- The content of this website (http://design.acquia.com) is copyrighted (automatically under the Berne Convention) by content creators (both Acquia editors and individuals) as content is created.
- But to grow the commons of free knowledge and free culture, all users contributing to this website are required to grant broad permissions to the general public to re-distribute and re-use their contributions freely, as long as the use is attributed and the same freedom to re-use and re-distribute applies to any derivative works. Therefore:
- You agree to license any copyrighted text you submit here under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0 (Unported).
- You agree to license any executable computer code that you create or upload to this site in either source or binary form under the terms of the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later.
Notwitstanding the copyright / licensing provisions described above:
- Acquia may either make custom provision for, or may create online interfaces for either creating text or uploading computer code that is to be made available on this site under a different license. In this case, Acquia will provide you with a manner to indicate the alternate license, and will provide a mechanism for this license to be displayed with the content or code is viewed or downloaded, which license will apply to the content or code once uploaded for redistribution via this site. However, you agree that it is your responsibility to assure that the license for such content is accurately reflected on this website, and such poster hereby releases Acquia from all claims that may arise from inaccurate or insufficient licensing disclosure on this website.
- You assign to Acquia your copyright in any "wiki"-style pages — pages with body content that can be created, modified, or deleted by any registered user with permitted access rights — on the condition that Acquia makes that content available under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License 3.0 (Unported). You agree that the purpose of this assignment is to provide a single, simplified attribution under CC-BY SA (the need for which arises from the practical difficulties of attributing content to numerous authors of a single page.) This applies to any wiki-style pages regardless of content - whether text or computer code.
- You agree that Acquia has the exclusive right to unpublish content it alone deems offensive, inappropriate, illegal (as when, for instance, poster didn't have the right to post / upload content or code), or any other reason.
By creating text content on this site, or creating or uploading computer code to this site, you represent that you have the legal right to release the content or code under the indicated license -- meaning that you either are the actual copyright holder of what you are creating or uploading, or you have a legal right to create or upload the text or computer code in the case that you are not the copyright holder.
